QReview is operated by Zachary Hutchinson, a sole trader registered in Queensland, Australia (ABN provided on request). References to "QReview", "we", "us" or "our" in this policy refer to this entity.

2. What Information We Collect
Account Information
- Name and email address (required to create an account)
- Profile photo (optional)
- Date of birth (collected only when accessing QReview Unleashed, for age verification)
Content You Create
- Reviews, ratings, and roasts you write
- Listings you create (businesses, people, places, products, etc.)
- Photos you upload to listings or your profile
- Replies to reviews
Usage & Technical Data
- Device type, operating system, and app version
- IP address and approximate location (used for location trust scoring on reviews)
- Push notification token (for review and activity notifications)
- QR code scan events
Payment Information
- Subscription purchases are processed by RevenueCat and Apple/Google. We do not store your payment card details.
- We receive only your subscription status (plan name, active/expired).
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the QReview platform
- To display your reviews, listings, and profile to other users
- To verify your age before granting access to QReview Unleashed (18+ content)
- To send you push notifications about reviews, reactions, and activity on your listings
- To calculate location trust scores on reviews (we do not store your precise location)
- To enforce our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service
- To manage your subscription plan via RevenueCat
- To improve the app through aggregated, anonymised usage analytics
4. Reviews of People (Personal Listings)
QReview allows users to create listings for real people and leave reviews about them. We take the following steps to protect individuals:
- Users creating a listing for a real person must confirm consent before publishing
- Any person may request removal of a listing about themselves by contacting privacy@qreviewit.app
- We will action removal requests within 14 days
- Content that constitutes harassment, defamation, or abuse will be removed promptly
- All personal listings are subject to Australian defamation law and the Privacy Act 1988
5. QReview Unleashed (18+ Content)
QReview Unleashed is an optional 18+ zone containing mature content including "Roast" reviews. Access requires:
- Confirmation that you are 18 years of age or older
- Active premium subscription
- Explicit opt-in consent recorded in our database with a timestamp
Unleashed mode is session-only — it resets every time you leave the Unleashed tab or close the app. Content visible in Unleashed is not shown in Standard mode.
6. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Firebase (Google) — database, authentication, storage, and push notifications
- RevenueCat — subscription management
- Apple / Google — app distribution and in-app purchases
All third-party services are bound by their own privacy policies and applicable data protection law.
7. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on Google Firebase servers. Firebase stores data in the United States and other regions. We implement Firebase Security Rules to restrict access to your data.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, but no system is completely secure. Please use a strong password and keep your credentials private.
8. Data Retention
- Your account data is retained while your account is active
- If you delete your account, your personal data is deleted within 30 days
- Reviews you have written may remain attributed to "Deleted User" unless you request full removal
- Age verification consent records are retained for legal compliance purposes
9. Your Rights (Australian Privacy Act)
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Complain about a privacy breach
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@qreviewit.app. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
10. Children's Privacy
QReview is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at privacy@qreviewit.app.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via a notification in the app. Continued use of QReview after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
